About

I’m Emily, and I’m so glad you found your way to my site!

I’ve been a book nerd for as long as I can remember, and I’ve also been writing stories since I could hold a pencil. I’m not going to lie: most of them were terrible. These days, my (hopefully better) fiction tends to depict the rough edges of life, but you can also find my non-fiction on Medium, where I write about my move to Israel and making sense of life in a new culture.

So now, here I am: a wannabe writer.
No, scratch that—a real writer.

I used to think it was just me, but the older I get, the more I realize that so many of us second guess our writer selves. We sit our butts in our chairs and we scribble our lines, craft our stories. We love it. It turns us on. But somehow, we’re still scared to call ourselves writers. Like somehow we have to achieve a certain level of success, a certain number of publications, a certain amount of popularity before we can claim that name for ourselves.

But you know what? That’s B.S.
If you write, you are a writer.
And I’ll be here to cheer you on.
I’m glad you’re here.
